The Heart of Nonviolent Communication – Part I
February 8 @ 7:30 pm - February 10 @ 11:00 am EST
Part I: The Compassion Map
Develop a clearer understanding of your own path to compassion―a map of what compassion looks like in your life and in the world. This training begins with a unique introduction to the operating principles and consciousness that create a meaningful and sustainable practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), sometimes referred to as compassionate communication.
In both large and small groups, you explore making new connections to yourself and others, free of blame, judgment, and shame. Focusing on the powerful pillars of knowledge and awareness beneath Marshall Rosenberg’s work (he’s the founder of NVC), you create new perspectives and skills to, as Marshall would say, “make life more wonderful.”
This program includes a combination of conceptual development and experiential exercises that provide you with ways to live a more compassionate life, including
- How NVC actually works
- Understanding the purpose of feelings and needs
- Myths and pitfalls in NVC practice
- Empathy and self-empathy practices.
Translate judgments into life-connected dialogues and requests as you learn to express and understand your needs, wants, and desires, and experience more compassion in the process.
