Get a deeper understanding and experience of  the new generation of peacemaking skills known as "NVC" (Nonviolent Communication).  This non-residential training is for anyone who has some familiarity with NVC and wants a comprehensive Introductory training on a professional level.  The Discovery Weekend provides movement and intensity in establishing a clear understanding and experience of NVC.  Additionally, many people who are learning NVC want to work with a Certified Trainer to be sure they are getting a clear understanding of what NVC is and what it is not.

with  Thom Bond
Founder and Director of NYCNVC
Certified Trainer, CNVC

The NVC Discovery Weekend takes us from the very beginning concepts to a deeper understanding of the purpose, meaning and implications NVC has in our lives and in the world.  We will practice responding and communicating consciously by expressing and hearing, based on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting.

Through the introduction of concepts in combination with experiential exercises, demonstrations, role plays and more, participants learn the foundations and concepts of NVC and have first hand experience practicing, and ultimately developing skills to bring back into their lives.

Topics:
-Observation and Evaluation
-Feelings and Thoughts
-Needs and Strategies
-Hearing No
-Saying No

-Requests and Demands
-Empathy
-Self Empathy
-Difficult Conversations
-What is NVC Consciousness?

Suggested Experience:
This is an introductory training. It's helpful if participants have some idea of what NVC is. For example, attended a "
First Monday", or have visited www.theexercise.org  or www.cnvc.org, or read a chapter or two of "Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life" by Marshall Rosenberg.

Advanced NVCers can attend on a "trainer track." Please contact Thom Bond if you are interested in this option at 212 496 3111.
