Practice Groups
  and Empathy Circles

P
ractice Groups -
are gatherings to help us integrate our learning into real life. Although NVC skills are often readily understood, they can be challenging to use when we need them the most. By using practice exercises, doing role plays and sharing our struggles and successes with one another, Practice Groups provide the content and support to use NVC in our lives.

NYCNVC offers Facilitated Practice Groups throughout the NYC area.  Groups generally follow either the Lucy Leu Companion Workbook or the 64 Days curriculum that includes readings, exercises and role plays.  Sessions usually take place in someone's home or a small public meeting room.  They generally range in size from 5 to 20 people, and cost from $15 to $25.  Groups cover the fundamental concepts and skills of NVC including "the model," "empathy," "needs consciousness," and more.  Starting times are usually 6:30 to 7:00 with 2 1/2 hours for the meeting itself.  If you would like help finding or starting a group, have further questions or would like support, you can contact us at (646) 201-9226 or by email to:

Empathy Circles - are designed to concentrate on our practice of giving and receiving empathy (a keystone in the practice of NVC).

By practicing empathy, we support one another in connecting with our deepest needs.  As with Practice Groups, it is advised that you contact the coordinator of the group for details regarding format and accessibility for new members.

At this time NYCNVC does not offer facilitated Empathy Circles.  If you would like help finding or starting a group, have further questions or would like support, you can contact us at (646) 201-9226 or by email to:
